This riding plan and activities is one of my dreams. Unfortunately it is scheduled overlapping my working day. I will try to catch the next schedule. As for the moment, I will stay with my dreams that someday I would be riding with you, great riders! I’ll pray for the safety of everyone.

Junros I’m here in Davao, with my beloved wife “Luz”. Sayang nga kahit man lang sana sa meeting na ka attend ako. We’ll be back on Friday.
Sama kaya sina Empoy, Ogie, and others?

ei sir enrico,

how's the weather in Davao? cguro amoy Durian ka na jan - hinay-hinay sir, pampalakas daw ng "lundag" yan! (baka may durian fuel additive na, para sa bike)

well, certainly the proposed sked overlaps working days. but we have to leave on a friday because the HTF3 was scheduled on a saturday & sunday.

Some riding buddies are planning to hire a truck to ferry their bikes to san fernando on friday night and back to manila on sunday evening after the HTF3.

Nov. 30 (tuesday) is a holiday (Andres de saya day?), in the past, it was observe that PGMA moves the holidays near weekends. so it may be moved on a monday, or we pray that monday be declared holiday also!

So for our "still employed" friends (self employed na kasi kami ni Lars) you may have to take a LOA on friday, monday and wednesday.

anyway, the ride is still about more than two weeks yet. so bolahin nyo na employers nyo!

good luck!

Last 2nd HTF (last year), may XRM at ATV from Abra na sumama, and they made it! . . . land ast month, the Abra Group with 2 stock XRMs and a Honda GL125 made it to Sagada via Bessang pass with river crossing at Cervantes.

If u r interested, u r most welcome. sa hi-way, our average speed is about 80KPH.

Ogie, sa dami ng thumpers na kasama, di ka mawawalan ng hingian ng gas. just be gentle on your throttle.

am still confirming the security situation on the Tabuk-Bontoc route. adjustments will be made if necessary.

ride safe bros.

nice idea, Ogie.

there's an XT for sale at Buy & Sell, 37K, 1994 model. start with that one?

Guys, Romy Soy has just posted the final route of the HTF3. it will be the HTF1 route i.e. Candon-San Emilio-Del Pilar-Tirad Pass on Day 01, thence Del Pilar-Quirino-Cervantes-Tagudin on Day 02.

With this development, i think we have to re-draft the 6-day Cordillera Ride route.

2nd proposal:

Day 01 (Nov. 26 Fri.) - Manila-Baguio-Candon: 7AM-6PM (or Manila-Abra 7AM-6PM, overnight in Abra, then join the Abra Group to the HTF3 either via Candon or we meet them at San Emilio. There's a backroad from Bangued to San Emilio).

Day 02 (Nov 27 Sat) - Candon or Abra to HTF3, overnight at Del Pilar town c/o Fr. Lito.

Day 03 (Nov 28 Sun) - Del Pilar -Quirino-Cervantes. From Cervantes, we can proceed to Sagada (about 1.5 hrs), overnight at St Joseph Guest House with pinikpikan and etag and tapuy!

Day 04 (Nov 29 Mon) - pasyal at ligo tayo sa pool inside the Sumaguing Cave!

Option 1 - depart Sagada 1 PM to Banawe via Bontoc, ETA Banawe 5PM, overnight stay in Banawe or Batad;

Option 2 - depart Sagada 11AM to Mt Pulag via Halsema Hi-way- Abatan-Buguias-Kabayan route (this route is supposed to be nearer), ETA Mt. Pulag 6PM, overnight at DENR Ranger Station

Option 3 - depart Sagada 12NN to Baguio via Halsema Hi-way, ETA Baguio 6PM, overnight stay;

Day 05 (Nov 30 Tue) -
Option 1 - depart Banawe 8AM to Mt. Pulag via Kayapa, Nueva Vizcaya. ETA Mt. Pulag 3PM, overnight stay at DENR Ranger Station;

Option 2 - eco-tour at Mt. Pulag, depart 12NN to Baguio, ETA Baguio 4PM, overnight stay;

Option 3 - depart Baguio 8AM to Mt. Pulag, ETA 1PM, overnight stay;

Day 06 (Dec 01 Wed) -
Option 1 - Depart Mt. Pulag 7AM to Baguio, ETA 12NN, thence depart Baguio 3-4PM to Manila via Kennon, ETA Manila 11PM.

Option 2 - Depart Baguio 12NN to Manila via Kennon, ETA Manila 7-8PM

Option 3 - Depart Mt Pulag 10AM to Manila via Kayapa, ETA Manila 6PM

I prefer Option 1, mas marami tayong ma-cover na area, but maybe tiring. enjoy naman!

your ideas please . . .

Just a thought that crossed my (excited) mind.... wouldn't it be better if we leave Manila earlier, say, before 6am so that we can somehow avoid the crazy morning traffic at McArthur Highway??

Also, what would be the estimated overall budget for the trip so that we can prepare for it? (fund-raising na po...!!)

Cheers!!

News update!!!

We can't really take the Abra-Kalinga-Bontoc route. It is still "unsafe" according to some reliable sources.

6AM departure is fne with me. But how about Lars and Ramonjake who will still come from Cavite? I just hope they can make it.

Budget? compute for your fuel consumption, the longest trips are Day 01 (350 kms to Candon or 420 kms to Abra) and Day 06 (abt. 300-350 kms from Mt. Pulag to Manila via Kayapa). Meals - depends on your diet, say about P50-P75 per meal. Lodging - P100-150/night. extra pocket money - for the unexpected and pasalubong.

What to bring? - water repellent or warm jacket, raincoat, sturdy high cut shoes (i will use my rainboots), plastic bags to secure your things from being wet just in case, first aid kit, sleeping bag . . . etc. but travel light!

Spares - who will bring what? we need inner tubes (2.75-21 & 4.10-18), tire levers, spark plugs, WD40, Duct Tape, automotive wires, bulbs, chain lock, . . . etc.

what else?

Hey Riding Buddies, 12 days to go na lang. Therefore, its double time for me to fix the engine of my Baja. I did a top overhaul (removal of cylinder block and head) job on my engine and the piston ring is the culprit. The clearance is so big that even the thickest leaf in my filler gauge can slide through easily. I am still wondering why it can still reach 120kph.

Basta, I will join this adventure ride.

BTW Junros, is it really that unsafe, this Abra-Kalinga-Bontoc route? You know how people tend to exaggerate about everything. C'mon, lets try this route. We just have to leave Abra very early in the morning so we can reach whatever our destination is early in the afternoon.

Budget? For riders who have 4 stroke bikes = P2.5K. For 2 strokers, take the advice of Rgon.

Victor and Chito won't be able to join us.

Of course we can always take that route, we're "neutrals" anyway. The first advisory was that, don't travel late. The next was, if the route can be avioded, do so. The animosity between the tribes of the recently concluded tribal conflict still lingers.

But you are right, we can leave early in the morning so we can reach our destination befor dusk.

Update from Romy Soy: HTF3 participants will meet in Candon between 9 & 10 AM on Nov. 27, Saturday.

Jhaybag proposed a meeting next week to finalize the itinerary. I will be in Manila on Nov. 23.

Empoy, happy trip pre! sure you will miss this ride and we will be missing u.

Regards.
